Two Days to Go - Am I Ready Yet?

Errrrmmmm, the simple answer is ….. partially maybe.

Air BnBs booked. Ferry Booked - thanks to a good friend I found out that it’s cheaper to take the Southampton to Cowes ferry than the Portsmouth to Fishbourne ferry and with a bonus discount code, it was even cheaper :)

I have a route planned but I know that will change when I get on the road.

I have to carefully select what I’m going to take, no room for excess. Years ago I used to go touring on my US Import CB750K (see photo), Tent Sleeping Bag, tool rool, panniers full of cooking gear, a few clothes and I’d be off for a week - the wind in my hair (I had some then) and the open road ahead me. Freedom. The chance to get away and forget about my other world; leave every behind for a week and chill on the road. Not a worry in the world. No idea where I was going to stay or even which town - I would normally head south, as I was based in Lancashire at the time and grew up in Hampshire and Devon. This time it’s a little more organised with named destinations, AirB n’ B’s booked and dates - well I’m a bit older now and need a bit of comfort (shower and a bed) at the end of a long bike ride.

Just need to pack a bag and figure out how to secure it to a gixxer!
