The End? Or is it just the beginning?
Is this the end or just the beginning, could this become an annual event? Not necessarily the same route but doing a week long tour around the UK?
Things I've learnt (or remembered) on this journey:
1) We have a beautiful country
2) People are generally very kind, generous and supportive
3) Our roads are shit, just when you think the roads are good and you’re doing a corner at pace, there’s either a pot-hole to catch you out or temporary surfaces!
4) The weather is shit this summer, bloody typical, the sunniest day was for my return journey and the rainest was going to be my longest leg, from Paignton to Hay-On-Wye via North Devon but I ended up having to circle back and go to Exeter and take the direct route.
5) Gel pants are great!
A Massive thank you to everyone who has donated to Sands (https://www.justgiving.com/page/in-memory-of-naima ) this means a lot to me, to Sands and to the people who will receive the benefit as they go through a difficult journey . There is more to be added, collected on my travels, which I’ll get sorted this week.
